Barcelona's football history is rich in great achievements, but the current generation of footballers has written a bright new page in it. In the match of the 2nd round of the group stage of the Champions League of the 2025/26 season against Paris Saint-Germain, the Catalans set a unique achievement — the team scores in all tournaments for 45 consecutive matches. This is the club's absolute record, surpassing the achievement of almost a century ago.

Before that, the best series belonged to Barca in the 1940s, when the Catalans scored in 44 consecutive matches (1942-1944). Then football was completely different, Spain was just recovering from the civil war, and the championship was held in much more difficult conditions. Now the record has become a confirmation that the modern Barcelona under Hans-Dieter Flick has a powerful attacking line and remains faithful to the philosophy of attacking football, laid down under Cruyff and developed by Guardiola.

Ferran Torres scored the landmark goal in a record streak, closing in on Marcus Rashford's pass. For Torres himself, this goal was an important moment: the striker had been in the shadow of his star partners for a long time, but in crucial matches he often finds himself at the forefront. His goal not only helped Barca continue their impressive streak, but also became a symbol of the fact that not only superstars, but also players who are ready to take the initiative, are doing the result.

It is worth recalling that in the first round of the Champions League group stage, the Catalans met with Newcastle and won 2-1. Then Robert Lewandowski and Lamin Yamal scored goals. This success was a kind of warm-up before the battle with PSG, where the record was set.

Barcelona also demonstrates a confident game in the national championship. After seven rounds, the team takes the first place in the standings, scoring 19 points. Such stability at the start of the season not only pleases the fans, but also creates a solid foundation for the fight for the championship.

The record performance of Barca is the merit of a whole group of players.

Robert Lewandowski continues to be a scoring machine, providing consistent scoring goals.

Lamin Yamal, who is only 16 years old, has already become a symbol of the new generation and impresses not only with his technique, but also with his maturity in decision-making.

Marcus Rashford, who came from Manchester United, quickly fitted into the team and added speed and unpredictability to the attack.

Do not forget about the midfielders: Pedri, Gavi and de Jong provide a balance between creation and control of the ball.

45 consecutive matches with goals are not just dry statistics. This is a demonstration of the philosophy of the club, which tries to play attacking football in any situation. For the fans, this is a confirmation.: Barcelona remains true to the DNA, where the main thing is playing with the ball, combinations and entertainment.

Experts note that the current series may last even longer, because Flick's team has matches ahead with rivals who rarely leave without conceding goals. Perhaps this season will set a record that will become a landmark for future generations.
